To not encourage negative self-talk, stay away from self-pity

Feeling sorry for ourselves has a negative impact on our everyday lives, and it can also ruin our self-esteem. To stay away from falling into its trap, we need to stop the negative thoughts that go with self-pity. Staying aware of our thoughts and eliminating the harmful thoughts is an important part of feeling OK with ourselves and maintaining our levels of self-esteem high.

Self-pity always comes with negative thoughts and ideas about ourselves and our lives. This is the time when negative self-talk is our predominant self-talk. Negative self-talk leads to feelings of self-pity, and feelings of self-pity lead to negative self-talk. To not further encourage negative self-talk, and thus stop this negative circle, stay away from self-pity.
