To develop positive self-talk, start with baby steps


Developing positive self-talk takes time and practice. At the beginning, it may look like a daunting task, especially if you have developed the habit of practicing negative self-talk. Old thought patterns need to be replaced with new – more positive and encouraging ones. In the process of developing positive self-talk, negative automatic thoughts should be replaced with more realistic and helpful ones. This all takes time and dedication.

Start with baby steps and encourage each new positive thought! Do not be too harsh with yourself when negative thoughts arise in your mind.
